Meditation for Ease of Mind and Body

A meditation for cultivating ease, calmness of mind and body.

Over the years, I’ve trained in several different mindfulness programs, including Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Emotional Balance (MBEB), and Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL), with their originators. Although there is the overarching principle of mindfulness and meditation in each, there are differences. Yet, probably the most essential part of any of these programs is the emphasis on staying open to both inner and outer experience. This meditation is a favorite of mine with its’ language of ease and comfort. Practicing over several days can transfer to moments of dis-ease or distress, where using some of your favorite phrases can become a meditation in itself, evolving into a more traditional mantra meditation when you don’t have the opportunity for a formal practice.
